How it works

From connected account to every price change.

What KeenEdge does, in order: how you set it up once, how each repricing run decides a price, how safeguards are enforced, and how every decision is recorded. The same steps run in the sandbox with simulated data.

Five steps from connection to controlled automation.

Each step gives KeenEdge one thing it needs to price a product: access, the catalog, costs, rules, and your permission to execute. Nothing changes on Amazon until step five.

  1. Step 01: Connect your Amazon seller account

Authorize Selling Partner API access in your own Amazon account, then give KeenEdge the credentials that result. KeenEdge uses the connection to read your listings, current prices, competing offers, and fee estimates. It never asks for your Seller Central password.

Connecting grants read access. Live repricing stays off until you enable it in step 05. Live Amazon connection isn’t open to new sellers yet.How KeenEdge protects your connection.
  2. Step 02: Import your product catalog

KeenEdge pulls your listings from Amazon with their current price, fulfillment channel, and status. You switch each product on or off for management.

Only managed products are evaluated in a run. Unmanaged and inactive listings are left alone.

  3. Step 03: Add your product costs

Enter a landed cost per product, or upload a CSV. KeenEdge adds the Amazon fee estimates it reads for that listing and your minimum margin, and calculates the minimum profitable price.

    floor = (landed cost + FBA fee) ÷ (1 − referral % − min. margin %)
    ($12.60 + $5.62) ÷ (1 − 0.15 − 0.18) = $27.19

A product with no cost on file has no floor, so KeenEdge holds it and makes no recommendation until a cost is added.

  4. Step 04: Set your pricing strategy and safeguards

Pick a strategy that tells KeenEdge what price to aim for, then set the boundaries that any aimed-for price must pass. Rules can be set for the whole catalog and overridden per product.

    • Minimum profitable price
    • Maximum permitted price
    • Price change limit per run
    • Strategy: match, stay below, margin first
  5. Step 05: Choose when to start live repricing

Review the setup and pick one of two ways to finish. Either way, KeenEdge begins running and recording decisions. The difference is whether step 5 of each run, execution, is switched on.

Starting paused lets you watch real recommendations against your real catalog before any price is sent. You turn execution on later from your pricing controls.

2 · Each run

How a price is decided.

Once set up, KeenEdge evaluates each managed product as marketplace information comes in. Every evaluation follows the same five steps, and every evaluation produces a record, whether or not the price changes.

Step 3 stops the target

Held at floor
1 · Lowest offer
$17.99
2 · Strategy target
Rejected: $17.99
3 · Floor check
$18.40

Step 4Recorded: target $17.99 failed the floor check ($17.99 < $18.40). Recommendation $18.40, held at floor.

Step 5Executed: $18.99 → $18.40 sent to Amazon, since execution is on and the move is within the 5% limit.

Target passes every check

Recommended
Current price

1 · Lowest offer
$20.99
2 · Target (−0.2%)
$20.95
3 · Floor check
$19.10
3 · Change check
−2.6% ≤ 5%

Step 4Recorded: target $20.95 is above the floor and inside the dashed 5% range for this run. Recommendation $20.95.

Step 5Executed: $21.50 → $20.95 sent to Amazon and confirmed.

3 · Step 3 in detail

How safeguards are enforced.

The strategy target from step 2 is checked against your rules in a fixed order. Each check either passes the price through, moves it to the nearest allowed value, or holds it. The result and the check that applied are written to the record.

  1. Floor check

Is the target at or above the minimum profitable price? If not, the recommendation becomes the floor and is marked Held at floor.

    3a
  2. Minimum and maximum check

Is the target inside any explicit minimum and maximum you set for the product? A target outside is clamped to the nearest boundary.

    3b
  3. Change limit check

Is the move from the current price within the per-run limit? A larger move is capped at the limit; the remaining distance can be covered in later runs.

    3c
  4. Freeze and pause status

Before step 5, KeenEdge checks whether the SKU is frozen or live repricing is paused. If either is true the recommendation is recorded but not sent.

    3d
  5. Emergency stop

Overrides everything above. Halts all execution immediately; prices stay where they are until you review and resume.

4 · Steps 4 and 5 in detail

How decisions are recorded and reviewed.

Each run writes one decision record per SKU. If execution is on, a second record is written when Amazon confirms the update. You can open any record, read it top to bottom, and replay it under different rules.

How replay works

BM-2PK

Replay takes the inputs stored in step 1 of this record and runs steps 2–4 again with a rule you choose. Nothing is sent to Amazon.

Under a margin-first rule, step 2 targets $18.11 and step 3 passes it, so the replayed recommendation sits above the lowest offer with no floor hold.

5 · Day to day

What you do after going live.

Runs continue on their own. The overview shows the latest run's counts, the most recent decision records, and the short list of products that need a decision from you.

  1. Check the run counts: how many SKUs were evaluated, recommended, executed, and held.
  2. Clear Needs attention: add a missing cost, review a product held at floor for several runs, or acknowledge a pending confirmation.
  3. Adjust rules when your costs or goals change. The next run picks them up; the floor is recalculated automatically.
  4. Pause, freeze, or stop whenever you want. Runs keep recording so you can see what would have happened.
